Best Mindfulness Meditation CDs
1: Jon Kabat Zinn on Pain Relief
GET IT ON AMAZON
In this meditation CD, Jon Kabat Zinn reveals how being mindful will help reduce pain, which is a clinically proven fact. Jon Kabat Zinn, who created Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at the University of Massachusetts Medical School is one of my favorite mindfulness teachers.
This CD begins with a presentation on how Jon Jabat Zinn’s methods change the way the body processes pain, which is something I have written about previously. This is followed by exercises, techniques, and some great tips to help you get started and to progress in your practice.
Zinn is one of the most prominent figures in the industry and this is perhaps his greatest work. Definitely the best meditation CD for dealing with health issues.
2: The Present Moment
Life is lived in the moment.
One of the best meditation CDs for learning present-moment mindfulness is The Present Moment: A Retreat On The Practice Of Mindfulness.
For me, this is the best meditation CD from Thich Nhat Hanh, and an excellent introductory point for people who are just starting to get into the practice. And you know it’s good because it’s made by one of the most highly respected Zen masters of all time, Thich Nhat Hanh, founder of the Plum Village Tradition and author of books like The Miracle of Mindfulness.
3: Mindfulness for Beginners
Okay so I’m going to share another work from Kon Kabat Zinn, but then, he is the master of making mindfulness CDs and has been doing so since way back in 1998.
I consider this one of the best courses for new students to learn from. I tried the exercises in the book, which include exercises for stress reduction, curing depression, pain relief and more, and they all made me feel great
As well as the exercises, I enjoyed the recordings on the basics of mindfulness and how to apply it to your life, and the benefits of the practice.

4: Mindfulness for Urban Depression
Psychotherapist Ira Israel takes you on a journey from Paris to LA to Las Vegas and Chicago, showing how the busy modern-day life can be harmful to our minds.
I really liked how Israel explained how our busy lives can lead to urban depression, and the exercises were great. I do think they will help cure depression and promote peace and calm.
This is one of the best mindfulness DVDs for anyone who lives in a noisy environment and wants to introduce quiet contemplation into their lifestyle.
4: Meditation For Beginners
This is a yoga and meditation DVD that contains both a relaxing program (which is easy to do), a body scan, and a seated session. I found the music is beautiful and relaxing, and I like the simple way in which everything is explained.
Many people are interested in learning both yoga and mindfulness so they can enjoy a healthy mind and body. This DVD covers aspects of both. It makes for a friendly and easy introduction to the practices.
5: A Beginner’s Guide…
This meditation DVD promises that within ten days you will change your life through the practices that it teaches. I did find that to be a lofty claim. But the DVD delivers.
In this meditation DVD, Ira Israel [counsellor and therapist] teaches beginners how to meditate. The focus is on relaxing and stopping stress. The presenter pours their wisdom into this mindfulness DVD. It is full of valuable lessons. Perfect for when you’re just starting to learn the practice.
Plus, included in this DVD are ten guided sessions. However, it is worth noting that research from Harvard Medical School shows that guided meditations are not as effective as traditional practices.
6: Mindfulness Meditation and Stress Reduction for Beginners
This meditation DVD teaches you how to reduce stress, which is one of the main reasons people get into mindfulness in the first place. It truly makes the most of the video format. Instead of just doing audio for guided meditations, The Garden Of Now (the producer) uses relaxing visuals too.
One of my favorite features of this mindfulness meditation DVD is that it teaches beginners the basics of the practice. In terms of the DVD’s guided meditations, there are body scans, seated sessions, and more.
Best Free Video On Youtube
In this video, I explain mindfulness in a no-B.S way.
I created this video for anyone who is just starting to get into the practice and who wants to learn the basics.
As a meditation teacher who gives online meditation lessons, I am passionate about helping everyone learn mindfulness. So, I made this video a very open, honest, and simple exploration of mindfulness meditation.
