It turns out this Buddhist monk loves The Beatle’s as much as the rest of us, as he sings a cover of “Yellow Submarine”. Probably the most life-affirming thing you’ll watch today.

Buddhist monk Kossan sang a cover of The Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine”. When a video of the song was uploaded to the internet, Youtube below up. Hilarious comments ensued. One commenter said. “You didn’t look for this. The buddhist yellow submarine finds you.” Another, “his is the kind of video that only exists between midnight and 4 am”.

If you’re wondering what the fascinating instruments are in this beautiful number, the one of the left of the video is a Mokugyo (Wooden Fish), which is basically a drum, and the one of the right is a Keisu (Bowl Bell), a bronze bell used in chanting.

Kossan’s musical career started when he was 13 and living in New York City. He said, “When I was playing the sanshin on a bench, a guy gave me a dollar. I was surprised because I didn’t expect that at all. I was playing it there only because it was a nice day.”
