B.C, C.A—Delta Yoga Studio owner Mak Parhar endangers public health with absolutely insane COVID-19 insanity.
Delta Yoga Studio was closed down recently after its owner, Mak Parhar, sent members an email stating that Bikram yoga kills coronavirus. At the time, public officials stated that his claim was potentially dangerous. Hot Yoga actually creates an atmosphere that is ideal for the novel coronavirus to spread. Although Harvard and other health organisations have stated that there are benefits of yoga for coronavirus, practicing hot yoga in a group setting is certainly not the answer.
Because of the threat to public health, officials closed Delta Yoga Studio. But Mak Parhar was not content to let things rest there.
Mak Parhar’s Insanity Threatened Public Health
He has recently been uploading various videos that he claims are designed to help people learn “the truth” about COVID-19. In one video, Mak Parhar even attempted to go through a coronavirus drive-through testing site in Delta. In another he threatened the health of doctors, nurses, and patients when he entered Royal Columbian Hospital, even going so far as to use ventilators and peek into ICU, where COVID-19 patients are currently being isolated.
Entry to a COVID-19 testing site in B.C. is strictly through referral only in order to protect public health.
Parhar has also posted Youtube videos of himself hosting “Anti-covIDIOT” gatherings that are in clear violation of the government-issued self-isolation guidelines.
Whether this was fuelled as a revenge-of-sorts to the closure of this yoga studio remains to be determined.
Mak Parhar is now being investigated by the police after Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth referred the case to local officials.
“This is just absolutely appalling and completely unacceptable, this individual is just a complete idiot,” he said. There’s absolutely no place for this kind of nonsense, this kind of anti-science moronic behaviour, it’s just totally beyond the pale.”
Shocklingly, Mr Parhar seems to doubt that COVID-19 is even real. He said, “I would like concrete evidence of this so-called pandemic. You guys are just pushing out this pandemic, pandemic narrative down everybody’s throat.” This, from a man calling everyone “idiots”.
Mr Parhar believes that he does not need to follow public health guidelines and that he has the right to do as he pleases. “I don’t think I need to comply and believe that, same with the World Health Organization or Dr. Bonnie Henry?” he said. “You know, I think in this country of freedom of speech, freedom of expression, the Canadian… I think this [is] a Charter rights issue.”
The current punishment for people breaking the COVID-19 orders in B.C. is a fine of up to $25,000 and six months in jail. This, however, does not seem to deter the Delta Yoga Studio owner at all. “Bring it on,” he said.
