Oprah Winfrey Reveals Her Secret Meditation Practice


ON David Letterman’s Late Show Oprah Winfrey discussed her meditation practice. And she said that meditation is very important for both wellness and business.

It was Oprah Winfrey’s second visit to the Late Show with David Letterman. She was visiting because of her role in the movie The Butler, in which she plays alongside the (obviously awesome) Forest Whitaker. While chatting to Letterman about the movie she said a great deal about how important meditation has been in her life.


Oprah Winfrey told David Letterman that she encouraged her entire company to begin meditating back in 2010. Oprah stated that meditation made for a better business environment and led all members of the team to be focused and of one mind.

Oprah Winfrey then asked David Letterman if he meditated.

Much to Oprah’s surprise Letterman said that he actually does meditate. That makes him yet another of the very many celebrities who meditate.    However he later added that he’d been taught meditation by “Meditation Bob” over the course of four nights and that “Vodka and pills are good way to go too.” LOL. Letterman. Legend.

Speaking about the importance of meditation, Oprah Winfrey said, “We all need to find something, whether it’s a time of reflection or whether it’s hugging your children, you need to give time to something good.”

She then went on to tout the Deepak Chopra Meditation Challenge, which Oprah herself will be participating in.

I’ve pretty stunned by the sheer amount of celebrities who meditate these days.

From Hugh Jackman to Russell Brand to The Beatles, meditation is becoming the number one tool used by celebrities. This is perhaps not surprising.
