Jennifer Lopez: “Yoga Should Be Accessible To All”

J-Lo, who has often shown her love for yoga by attending yoga studios and frequently wearing yoga pants, is passionate about making yoga accessible for all, especially during this challenging time.  “In the current situation, I am glad that SARVA that comes from the birthplace of yoga with its vision of combining authenticity along with modernity, is making yoga accessible to audiences of all ages, languages, and geographies using the power of technology and I am sure this is something that could make a difference to the lives of people around the world,” said J-Lo.

SARVA defines itself as, “A community of fitness enthusiasts, looking to explore the ancient science of Yoga and Mindfulness to make the world a better place.” The “community” has been involved in the evolution of yoga, creating many new forms of yoga and helping designed yoga studios that “maximise the effectiveness of your routine”.

SARVA was co-founded by Sarvesh Shashi (self-described as the “youngest SEO in the yoga and wellness industry”). Speaking about the Immunity Builder Program, Shashi said, , “SARVA’s aim has always been to connect 7 billion breaths through yoga – and our purpose has found a wider base now that the world is battling a public health crisis and we’re honoured to be able to contribute in helping people during this tough time.”

Shashi states the current situation is the ideal time for people to “focus on rebuilding themselves by remaining positive and staying fit even when at home.” He hopes the new yoga program will help people around the world to achieve this.  “Our team is tirelessly working round the clock to be able to communicate the message about our 14-day Immunity Building Program and provide LIVE yoga classes across 25 countries, 5 times a day with the sole aim of giving people the means to stay healthy, both physically and mentally,” he said.

It is interesting to note the title of the program: Immunity Builder. It’s an obvious attempt to cash-in on the current anxiety surrounding COVID-19, and seems to suggest that yoga could create immunity. To clarify, there is absolutely zero evidence, let alone proof, that yoga can help create any sort of “immunity”.

It is also somewhat obvious that SARVA is doing this for publicity to help extend the reach of their paid membership programs.

Yoga can, however, help with aspects such as general health and anxiety.
